Kettia Capi
Graduate Student Intern

My name is Kettia Capi. I am a graduate student intern enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Campbell University. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Health Science from the University of Central Florida. I also earned a Master of Divinity from Campbell University. I am fluent in French and Haitian Creole, and I plan to offer services in these languages, as well as in English, to support families, couples, and individuals who may face language barriers.

Every client is unique; therefore, their needs and therapeutic journey will also be. Clients are the experts in their own lives and my goal is to help each and every client discover their strengths to help them navigate through challenging experiences. I firmly believe that with the right support and validation, clients can be guided to make choices that not only help them achieve their individual goals but also become the person they aspire to be.

I utilize an eclectic approach to counseling which implements techniques from person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, narrative, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I am a facilitator of change through a therapeutic relationship that is client-centered, multiculturally sensitive, and evidence-based. I plan on working with individuals of all age groups and couples from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem and body image concerns, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), self-exploration, personal growth, relationship challenges, and other mental health and life concerns. I will collaborate with each client to create individualized treatment plans that reflect their needs, while also prioritizing the client's experiences, strengths, and capacity for growth.
